Karate names squad for Fiji

The PNG Karate-Do Federation (PNGKF) has named two separate squads for the Fiji International Karate Open Championships on 28th – 29th September 2013 and the Queensland Semi Contact and Full Contact Titles at the Gold Coast on 19th – 20th October 2013.

The squad going to Fiji includes; Quentin Bougen, Gladys Wallace, Cletus Mason (Autonomous Region of Bougainville);  Miriam Stanley, Geua Rupa, John Kajona, Artson Goasa, (Central Province); Batshiba Nogo,(Eastern Highlands); Joan Abala (East New Britain): Jacklyn Barney, Manu Mekere, John Watah, Randolph Mekere, Siwari Matus, Eddie Martin, (Morobe): Nigel Bana, Crystal Mari, Sarah Ande, Joancherry Revui, Annabel Beuau, Leonard Geriadi, Sailas Piskaut, Peter Dawa, Bernard Sinai, Violet Wangihau, Atomu Amani (National Capital District); and Enerst Nuli, (West New Britain).

The squad going to the Gold Coast comprise of; Jarnoh Albert, Junior Chapau, Junior Smith, Junior Francis, Naorie Beuau, Mckainne Kennedy, Geita Maraga, Terah Efi, (Central) Jacob Tionnie, (East New Britain): James Gaub, Seby Desmond, (Morobe):  Terence Rau, Tony Gorogo, Patrick Kassamento. (National Capital District); Kevin Duna, Randol Hojavo, Basil Orere, Asina Rocky, (Northern); Nick Mou, Alois Masusulu, (West New Britain).

These two squads were selected from the performances in the 6th PNG Open Karate Titles held in April 2013 and the 24th National Karate Championships in July 2013.

Carl Mari

Carl Mari is President of Papua New Guinea Karate-Do Federation (PNGKF) and a Sandan in Shotokan Karate. He runs the Rock Shotokan Karate Club in Port Moresby.
