Gorilla Pictures Executive Producer, Bill Gottlieb, has announced on Monday that the shooting of the movie, The B-Team, will commence in October. This comes after a delay from the original schedule due to the elections.
Gorilla has already budgeted US$3 million for post-production, hiring, promotion and marketing. Another K3.5 million for logistics was pledged by the O’Neil – Namah government for the 40 day shoot in the country.
According to The B-Team PNG chairman, Robert Kopaul, the project should have positive spinoffs for the economy and country as a whole.
Meanwhile, Gottlieb said The B-Team was invited to the Cannes Film Festival in Germany last month and the American Film Festival in Los Angeles in October. He said this indicates a huge worldwide interest from distributors providing profit potential for the country and film makers.
