AROB Kickboxing Tournament Kicks Off in April

The Autonomous Region of Bougainville Kickboxing Association (AROBKA) will hold a tournament in April to select its best fighters to Papua New Guinea (PNG) Games in Kokopo, East New Britain.

According to reports in the Post Courier by Fabian Hakalits, the event will be held from April 5 – 7 and has attracted attention of seven teams throughout the region with Torokina, Manetai, Tinputz, Kunua, Tsitakato, Hagogohe and Peit already confirmed.

The association president, a former student of World Champion and soon to be movie star Stanley Nandex, Ivan Gasi said the tournament would be used to identify the fighters’ weakness and create a training strategy to improve on it. He also stated that seven females have shown interest in the sport which will hopefully extend interest in the sport.
