One of the country’s greatest martial art ambassadors and former world kickboxing champion Stanley Nandex has been cast in low budget Gorilla Pictures production called ‘The B-Team’.
The film is a spinoff from the hit comedy The A-Team and will be shot on location in Papua New Guinea and is set to star Nandex alongside Don ‘The Dragon’ Wilson (from the Bloodfist series), Michael Jai White (from Blood and Bone, Undisputed II) and Cynthia Rothrock (Above the Law). President of Gorilla Pictures, Bill Gittieb, has also announced that the action comedy will be directed by Rick Jacobsen who best known for directing Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess (TV series). Both shows were widely enjoyed locally.
According to the Post Courier, Gottieb has described the project as a storyline akin to The A-Team meeting the Raiders of the Lost Ark. If all goes according to plan, Nandex will become the second Papua New Guinean to star in Hollywood production after the late William Takaku starred as Man Friday alongside Pierce Brosnan in Robinson Crusoe (1997).
