The Papua New Guinea Kickboxing Federation has finally settled its outstanding debts with the World Kickboxing Federation by paying the US$1,000 it owed.

President of PNGKF, Stanley Nandex said with this out of the way the federation is now looking at bigger things to do with the sport and getting back on track with its programs and activities in the country.

Nandex said the sport has already made an impact on the international stage and the issues with WKF were holding back its progress and development in the country.

He said the federation is in a better shape now particularly, with its legal framework to handle any similar issues in the future and avoid actions by individuals or organisations that might bring it into disrepute.

All international sanctioning bodies will need to work directly with the PNGKBF for any kickboxing activities in PNG.

It is well understood that every country has their own legislative by-laws and therefore, should respect it in this manner to allow the federation to do its work for the best interest of its members in the country.
