Taekwondo PNG elects executives

Taekwondo PNG Federation (TPNGF) elected executives following its annual general meeting with Peter Miria re-elected as president, The National reports.

Meanwhile former acting president, Simon Kama, retained a position as an executive, sharing the vice presidency seat with former Miss PNG contestant Sylvia Pascoe.

Kama and Pascoe were tied at 11 – 11 votes when consultation of the federation’s constitution revealed that two vice presidents were allowed. They will be assisted by Samantha Kassman as secretary, Grace Richards as treasurer with Edward Kassman, Aliston Hapisiria and Randel Toliman as committee members.

The election was supervised by the President of the PNG Olympic Committee, Sir Dawanincura, General Secretary, Auvita Rapilla and Richard Kassman as an independent observer.

Representatives from a total of 24 clubs from within the country and participated in the elections.
