Former Taekwondo international and Bulolo MP Sam Basil has retained his seat. He scored a total of 21785 out of 37714 votes in the Bulolo electorate in the Morobe Province. His nearest rival scored a total of 2555 votes.
Meanwhile former Kyokushin international Sensei Walter “Wally” Schnaubelt came in second after losing to his cousin and current member for the Namatanai Open seat in New Ireland, Byron Chan. Sensei Wally scored a total of 10785 while Chan took 1216 votes more.
