Who is Bill ‘Superfoot’ Wallace?

I guess many people will now be asking about Bill ‘Superfoot’ Wallace after the news that he will be coming to be guest judge at the 2nd All Styles Martial Arts Tournament in Port Moresby in July. Well, here is a brief profile of the martial arts legend.

Bill Wallace was born on December 1, 1945, in Portland, Indiana and practiced wrestling in high school. In 1966 he began studying judo however a knee injury forced him to discontinue the practice. A year later he began studying Shorin-ryu Karate under Michael Gneck while serving in the US Air Force. He entered point scoring tournaments and became the champion 3 consecutive years, later switching to professional karate tournaments.

Wallace retired in 1980 undefeated as the Professional Karate Association (PKA) Middle Weight Champion after defeating Bill Biggs in a 12 round match, ending his illustrious 15 year career and 23rd straight victory.

The name ‘Superfoot’ came about due to his skills with his left leg which he used much the same others used their hands. His leg was once clocked at a speed of 60 mph.

He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Ball State University and a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Memphis State University.
