The Papua New Guinea Boxing Federation (PNGBF) is calling its professional pugilists and officials including trainers, corner men and technical officials to register with the Papua New Guinea Boxing Commission Board (PNGBCB).

The fee, as regulated by the board, is a K100 annually to be a member of the professional circle.

Boxing promoter and PNGBF founder Nick Calibud, according to The National, said the codes laws and regulations require all boxers to be licensed. He also stated that all fighters must be medically cleared by qualified doctors before competing. This is to avoid any serious injuries.

Only John Deklam and John Korake are currently registered as professionals. However, others who have fought under the professional banner include Kevin Baki, Chavis Kora, Douglas Walo, Francis Oaike, Victor Lani and Rickson Yamo.

Pugilists wishing to join the professional circle can contact Calibud on 7216464 or 76865908 or on email nick@daltron.com.pg for further clarification.
